パキスタンや西インドでカトリー［Khatri］により伝えられてきた伝統布アジュラック。
向井詩織 | Shiori Mukaiは、そのようなアジュラックの世界に、静かに揺さぶりをかける存在だ。カトリーに混じり、量子あるいは真空の空間を彷彿させる表現によって、その世界の輪郭を拡げている。
スフィヤン・イスマイル・カトリー｜Sufiyan Ismail Khatriは、伝統と革新の間を行き来する。それは自らの仕事だが、自らのための仕事ではない。自らの仕事は有限だが、継がれていく仕事は無限だ。日々続けることでアジュラックは永久運動となる。本展では、CALICOがデザインに関わり、彼と共に作っていきたい作品を試みた。
それぞれの運動が織りなすアジュラックの小宇宙をおたのしみください。

9/18 sun.は、向井詩織さんによるアジュラックのワークショップ(11:00-15:30）を予定しています。
・参加費：7000円（当日現金をお持ちください）持ち物：バスタオル（汚れる可能性があります）
・ 50cm x 50cmの布1枚を染めてお持ち帰りいただけます。
・奈良でアーユルヴェディックなインド料理を手がけるvanamさんのカレー弁当とおやつつきです。
・染料、版木は自由にお使いいただけます（版木の持参歓迎）／茜染の工程もあります。

Ajrakh is a traditional form of printed textiles which inherited generation by generation in West India and Pakisthan.
Shiori Mukai, a textile artist from Japan, is enhancing the boundaries of Ajrakh quietly. Her expressions are like spectacular sceneries of moving atoms or hollow spaces.
Sufiyan Ismail Khatri is like a pendulum, maintaining the balance of Ajrakh universe, by rounding tradition and innovation, past and future.
Those works are himself, but not for himself. He is finite, but success of works are infinite. Ajrakh becomes a perpetual motion by being processed everyday.
In this exhibition, Sufiyan and CALICO have co-designed new series of Ajrakh to be succeeded.
