"CALICO Autumn/Winter Clothing Exhibition" at NISHI NISHI (Kagawa, Takamatsu)

Autumn is deepening day by day.

This year's Takamatsu NISHINISHI exhibition is their first autumn exhibition in two years.

I remember visiting the last autumn exhibition with Sufiyan and exhibiting amid the smell of simmering curry.

This time, we will be bringing a variety of classic and updated styles that are typical of CALICO, including autumn-colored Ajurak pieces planned with Sufiyan, bandhani pieces that are a favorite of the store owner Aya Iima, and pieces made from honest plain hand-spun and hand-woven fabrics from Bengal.

We are finally free from the hot summer and the season has come when our clothing choices become much more varied.
Plenty of gathers swaying from the pin tucks.
Woven and dyed patterns.
We hope you enjoy fashion while appreciating the handiwork of each piece.

CALICO:the ART of INDIAN VILLAGE FABRICS
Kiriko works with local artisans to preserve the time-honoured methods used in Indian villages, creating modern traditions such as Khadi (hand-spun and hand-woven cotton fabric), Jamdani, Kantha, Ajurac dyeing, and weaving of native cotton and wool, and passing these on to future generations.
It is the name of a prayer to bring back the rich culture of fabrics and clothing to our daily lives, where we have long since lost the joy of touch, and to create a new world of fabrics that will connect to the future.
