Repairs and re-dyes
Fabrics woven over days from threads spun and nurtured over many months and years—at CALICO, we want you to cherish maku and CALICO garments made from such textiles for as long as possible. With this sentiment in mind, we are pleased to introduce a repair and re-dyeing service.
While we have occasionally accepted repair requests upon customer inquiry in the past, we are now fully equipped to provide this service with proper guidance. Additionally, we have received numerous requests for re-dyeing maku pieces with indigo.
Moving forward, we will collaborate with Indigo Classic's Daiku Oda, who oversees the entire indigo production process near CALICO: the BHAVAN in Nara—from cultivating Tade-Ai plants to creating Sukumo (fermented indigo) and dyeing. This partnership enables us to offer re-dyeing services.
Not only maku pieces but also CALICO items that have faded over time can be refreshed with re-dyeing. We hope you will continue to treasure and wear your garments, reborn anew through the art of indigo dyeing.
Repair Service
・Pricing: From ¥2,200 per item (tax included). If the cost exceeds ¥2,200, we will notify you in advance.
The price includes a return shipping fee of ¥880. For those wishing to pick up their repaired items at the store, shipping fees will be waived. Please contact us for further details.
・Services: Repairs include resewing loose seams, patching torn fabric, and replacing elastic bands, among others.
Indigo Dye・Redye Service
Re-dyeing Period: Approximately one month.(Please note that it may take longer than one month depending on circumstances.)
Process: The entire garment will be dyed. Buttons and certain polyester threads may not absorb the dye completely. Thank you for your understanding.
Indigo Shade: The default is a deep indigo dye. However, the exact shade and tone will be left to the discretion of the dyer.
Pricing: The following fees include a return shipping cost of ¥880. If you prefer to pick up your item at the store, shipping fees will be waived. Please contact us for details.
