This year, a special exhibition will be held at Tonokin in Tokushima.
Our representative, Kobayashi, will also be there on the first day, November 23rd.
The photograph shows a woman spinning native Kala cotton using a portable spinning wheel called a Petichalka in Nakatharana in western Kutch.
These practices have not always been practiced, but are new "traditions" that have been lit thanks to the wisdom and efforts of many people, including the local NGO Khamir.
Now in 2023, come and see the various handmade fabrics being made in India.

CALICO: the ART of INDIAN VILLAGE FABRICS is a handcrafted brand based in Delhi, India, that supports the sustainable development of the handweaving industry.
Many items will arrive, including clothes made from roughly hand-spun and hand-woven fabric, and scarves featuring Bengali embroidery called kantha.
These nostalgic yet rich and fresh-feeling fabrics will awaken people's innate "rich sensibility towards fabrics and clothing."
