To Hokkaido in summer.
Maku's first Sapporo exhibition will soon be held at the Efurokubunnoichi exhibition room run by Todo Yumiko.
This will also be the first time that CALICO's full lineup will be on display.
We will mainly carry long sleeve and medium weight khadi items that can be worn throughout the season.
The photo shows a ghagra skirt that we worked on with Ajrak craftsman Sufiyan Ismail Khatri. It is cool in the summer and can be worn layered in the cold season.
We are looking forward to seeing you there.

"CALICO works with local artisans to preserve the traditional methods used in Indian villages.
This is an activity that involves handcrafted textiles such as Khadi (hand-spun and hand-woven cotton), Jamdani, Kantha, Ajurac dyeing, and weaving of native cotton and wool as modern traditions and passing them on to future generations.
It is the name of a prayer to bring back the rich culture of fabrics and clothing to our daily lives, where we have long since lost the joy of touch, and to create a new world of fabrics that will connect to the future.
In this solo exhibition, her first in Hokkaido, she will be showcasing clothes made from hand-woven fabrics such as khadi and jamdani, as well as clothes made from traditional dyed fabrics created in collaboration with Ajurak artisans.
We will also be showcasing a number of works by MAKU, a brand from West Bengal that collaborates with CALICO.
Our representative, Kobayashi Fumie, will also be in the store on the first day, Thursday, July 27th.

Kobayashi Fumie, who I have had the opportunity to work with on many occasions from my previous store.
I am very excited to be able to introduce this to you.
Please add this to your schedule!
