List : in Dejima, Nagasaki is starting its annual "CALICO TRAVEL REPORT".
We will once again deliver Indian fabrics to Dejima, where they first arrived along with spices.
I hope to experience the happiness of sharing it with you all.
At the end of the month, we are also planning a traveling exhibition and talk event at Retroft in Kagoshima with the store owner, Tomoko Matsui.
We look forward to speaking with you about the people involved in modern Indian handmade textiles, their work, and our relationship with them.

This summer, we will be holding "CALICO TRAVEL REPORT," where you can enjoy to your heart's content the world of handmade fabrics made in Indian villages.
The clothes and accessories made from Indian handmade fabrics that we receive from CALICO are like a report on the various climates across the vast country of India, the customs and cultures of its diverse ethnic groups, and the thoughts and ideas of the people who create them.
Khadi cotton woven from hand-spun yarn, cultivation of native Indian cotton, collaboration with Ajurack artisans, Jamdani embroidery, kantha sashiko, natural dyeing, indigo dyeing... We will introduce the activities of Kobayashi of CALICO, who is connecting the beautiful and functional culture of Indian handmade fabrics to us today and to the next generation.
After List: ends, we will be touring to Kagoshima for the first time this summer. We hope that many people will be able to experience the comfort of Khadi cotton and the beautiful and rich world of Indian handmade fabrics in the midsummer sunshine of Kagoshima.
At the Kagoshima exhibition, we will be hosting a talk session with Calico's Kobayashi (July 25th, 5pm). More details will be announced later.
"Fabric travels and propagates through time and space.
So that they can carry the thoughts of those who made them and be remembered as the living embodiment of those who wear them.
Fabric is a mirror that reflects our imagination.
By wearing handmade fabric
We can continue our journey.”
This year too, Kyarico and the Bengali brand "MAkU TEXTILE" will be bringing the modern Indian style to Nagasaki.
