2/6 Sat - 2/11 Thu "China-India Handicraft Travelogue" at Shika no Fune Mayu (Nara)

CALICO is joining the co-event with Mingei Okumura at Shika no Fune in Nara...!

We will be holding a special exhibition with "Mingei Okumura" at "Shika no Fune", a venue produced by Yukiko Ishimura of Nara's Kurumi no Ki. We will be bringing mainly fabrics for daily life (no clothes).

I am very much looking forward to being able to see Chinese fabrics and goods in Nara, a place with deep ties to the continent. Please be careful when you come and think of the faraway continent.

From the Kurumi no Ki website:

We will be holding an exhibition to commemorate the publication of "A Journey Through Chinese Handicrafts," a book by Shinobu Okumura, the owner of the webshop "Mingei Okumura," which introduces folk art and handicrafts from Japan and around the world, as well as an exhibition and sale of Indian handmade fabrics introduced by Fumie Kobayashi of Nara's CALICO: the ART of INDIAN VILLAGE FABRICS.
