Spring is finally upon us.
Thank you very much for your continued support for our activities at CALICO: the ART of INDIAN VILLAGE FABRICS.
Starting in March 2021, Kyarico LLC will be relocating its head office to Nara Park, at the foot of Mt. Wakakusa, as shown below.
Also, from March 3rd, CALICO's gallery shop, CALICO: the Bhavan (which means mansion or house in Hindi), will be running a trial run at the same address. This is the Indian method known as a soft launch. Please feel free to drop by.
Nara has been a place that has looked to the culture of the Western continent since ancient times.
And Nara Park is a place that seems to embody in the far east the ideal of the Deer Garden in Sarnath. Coincidentally, the first Indian friend I showed to Nara was also named Sarnath.
Although we live in times of much uncertainty, I hope to create an opportunity to use the power of Indian fabrics to help people regain that lost sense of touch.
Let us follow the example of the Indian people, who are resilient and adaptable to change, and move forward in a relaxed and generous manner.
