Product Description

The light Khadi is a CALICO original Khadi that was developed in 2014 with increased strength, based on CALICO's signature fine-count Khadi, developed in 2013, to be suitable for all types of sewing.
The warp threads are made of approximately 100 count Unvircalka yarn and the weft threads are made of approximately 150 count Unvircalka yarn.
It has more stitches than Muslin A, which has similar specifications, and although it is thin it feels sturdy.
In much of the Indian domestic market, Khadi may refer to fabrics in which only the weft is hand-spun, or woven on a power loom known as a village mill. However, CALICO's Khadi is in principle "hand-spun warp and weft (hand-spun warp and weft) and hand-woven."

Khadi is a handspun and handwoven cotton fabric.
Calico's original Light Khadi (previously known as New Thin Khadi) is Calico's original Khadi made in West Bengal.
In 2013 Ussura Khadi was created by increasing the strength of the fine-count thread of Khadi that represents Calico.
In 2014, it has been tailored so that it can be used for all kinds of sewing.
We use approximately 100 thread counts for the warp and approximately 150 thread counts for the weft.
Compared to Muslin A, which has similar specifications, it has more threads and has a thinner but sturdy structure.
Calico's Light Khadi 3 comes in five shades, pink, boldeaux, rose, lavender, and tea.
It is a light and translucent fabric with a smooth and delicate texture.
As it is handspun it reveals the uneven yarns on the overall composition of fabric which gives the fabric a subtle texture impression. The light weight fabric is soft and airy.
Compared to Shikkuri Khadi, it is thinner and lighter in weight. Great for spring and summer clothing, shawl or use as inner lining.
The thinnest of the fabric is suitable for layering.
The selvedge of the fabric creates a duo shade that can be used as a design element too.
In many Indian domestic markets, handspun and handwoven cotton fabric may be using only handspun weft or woven by a power loom called a village mill.
But Calico Ussura Khadi is both handspun and handwoven.

* Hand-spun yarn is mainly produced by village women using a modern and highly efficient spinning wheel called an amvirtualka. If the yarn breaks, it will have knots as it has to be spun by hand.

* Most hand-woven and hand-spun fabrics are made in village huts, and depending on the environment, threads and grass may be mixed in. There may also be uneven areas, twists, smudges caused by skipped threads, and unavoidable stains. Please understand that these are characteristics of Indian fabrics before purchasing.

* Depending on the material, friction during use may cause shrinkage or pilling. Please avoid excessive friction or pressure as it may cause damage to the fabric.

* Please be aware that indigo dyed or dark colored fabrics and clothing may fade or transfer color due to friction, rain, sweat, etc. Please be careful when wearing this product with light colored clothing or bags, or when using it together with furniture.
