Product Description

A top that can be worn comfortably even in hot weather.
It is also recommended as a thin jacket to protect you from the summer sun.

Muslin is an extremely fine Bengal cotton cloth that has been woven in Bengal since ancient times and has captivated people all over the world. The Dhaka region of present-day Bangladesh has been known as the main production area. However, the original species of short fiber essential for muslin (although we have explained it as a long fiber, we now know that it was actually a short fiber) has almost become extinct (only remains remain in museums), and the coastal areas where it grew have been lost due to years of erosion. Today, most weavers have never woven an extremely fine fiber, so it is considered extremely difficult to recreate something with the same specifications as back then (although experimental reproductions have been carried out).
Meanwhile, in the Indian state of West Bengal, there is a growing movement to promote handwoven cotton of 100 count or more, calling it modern muslin. There are also a few weavers who are attempting to weave extremely fine cotton, such as 500 count.

Muslin D was developed in the midst of this trend, and is now woven with approximately 300 count ambar charka thread. It is soft to the touch, slightly transparent, and has an exceptionally delicate feel even among fine-count khadi fabrics.

* This product is also carried in the stores, so it may occasionally be sold out at the time of your order through the website. Unfortunately if  that the product is out of stock after you placing the order, we will contact you. We appreciate your understanding.

* Hand-spun yarn is mainly made by women in the village using an efficient modern spinning wheel called an “Amber Charka.” When the yarn breaks, it is spun by hand, resulting in neps, which is a characteristic feature.

* Most of hand-spun and handwoven fabrics are produced in village huts, and as a result, threads or grass may occasionally be mixed in. Additionally, there may be uneven areas, wrinkles, or slight discoloration caused by thread breaks, as well as unavoidable minor stains. Please understand that these are characteristic features of those fabrics.

* Depending on the material, friction during use may cause pilling or fuzziness. Excessive friction or pressure can cause a fabric damage, so please avoid such a situation.

* We recommend washing at home with a neutral detergent in cold water and drying in the shade. If using a washing machine, please use a laundry net.
