A long V-neck dress made from muslin fabric.
This dress features ladder stitching as a distinctive feature of the design, allowing you to enjoy its sheerness.
Muslin is an ultra-fine-count Bengal cotton fabric woven since ancient times in Bengal, captivating people worldwide. The Dhaka region of present-day Bangladesh has long been known as its primary production area. However, the original source of the short fibers essential to muslin (previously described as long fibers, but now known to be short) is nearly extinct (surviving only in museums). The coastal areas where it grew have been lost to years of erosion. Today, most weavers have never woven such fine counts, making it quite difficult to restore muslin to its original specifications (though experimental reproductions have been attempted).
Meanwhile, in India's West Bengal state, there is a strong movement to promote handwoven cotton fabrics exceeding 100 counts as “modern muslin.” Additionally, a small number of weavers still exist who challenge themselves with extremely fine counts like 500.
Muslin D was developed within this context. It is currently woven with spun yarn for the warp and approximately 300 counts ambar charka thread for the weft. It offers a soft feel against the skin, allows a faint light to pass through, and presents an exceptionally delicate impression even among fine count khadi fabrics.

* This product is also carried in the stores, so it may occasionally be sold out at the time of your order through the website. Unfortunately if that the product is out of stock after you placing the order, we will contact you. We appreciate your understanding.
* Hand-spun yarn is mainly made by women in the village using an efficient modern spinning wheel called an “Amber Charka.” When the yarn breaks, it is spun by hand, resulting in neps, which is a characteristic feature.
* Most of hand-spun and handwoven fabrics are produced in village huts, and as a result, threads or grass may occasionally be mixed in. Additionally, there may be uneven areas, wrinkles, or slight discoloration caused by thread breaks, as well as unavoidable minor stains. Please understand that these are characteristic features of those fabrics.
* Depending on the material, friction during use may cause pilling or fuzziness. Excessive friction or pressure can cause a fabric damage, so please avoid such a situation.
* We recommend washing at home with a neutral detergent in cold water and drying in the shade. If using a washing machine, please use a laundry net.
