Found MUJI Aoyama store will be hosting the CALICO POP UP STORE again this year.
CALICO : the ART of INDIAN VILLAGE FABRICS
Kyarico: The World of Indian Handmade Fabrics 2023
Started in 2012 with bases in New Delhi and Nara, India.
This is a design project that focuses on the cultural background of the handicrafts that have been passed down in Indian villages, and the identities and motivations of the artisans, and aims to preserve handmade fabrics such as khadi (hand-spun and hand-woven cotton fabric), jamdani, traditional dyeing and embroidery as contemporary traditions for future generations.
We actively adopt materials such as indigenous Indian cotton yarn and wool, and natural dyes such as Indian indigo, and are also involved in creating mechanisms to popularize them.
