The coronavirus pandemic is dramatically changing the face of handweaving villages.
The sound of machines weaving polyester saris began to drown out the faint whirring that echoed throughout the village.
Despite their conflicted feelings, the local weavers continue to use their hands, feet and bodies to make the sound of the looms.
We will bring with us the khadi and jamdani clothes that they have woven for us.
We will also be introducing new products from maku, who is active in Bengal, as well as items made from indigenous cotton grown in Gujarat and Tamil Nadu.
