A pop-up event featuring maku and CALICO will be held at Gallery 2 of SPICA in Beppu, Oita.
The photo shows the process of applying Bandhani, a tie-dyeing technique traditional to Western India.
The Rubberi pattern series, which has been gradually expanding its colour range since 2018, is made in collaboration with SIDR Craft, a Bandhani Katli of Kutch, who have been involved in tie-dyeing Rubberi rumars (shawls) for generations.
