CALICO: The World of Indian Handmade Fabrics at Kogei Fuko (Fukuoka)

It's already February.
There's not much time left until spring.

Carrying Indian fabrics and clothing that bring a warmth to our lives, we visited Kogei Fumiko in Fukuoka, run by husband and wife team Takagi Takao and Shirabe, for the first time in two years.

On the first and second days, Miki Kiyama from Kiriko will be present in the gallery.
Please stop by.

We live in an age where we have forgotten the preciousness of fabric. We grow plants, spin the fibers into thread, weave the fabric on a loom, and then turn it into clothing. By forgetting the long process, we have created "fast fashion" and are exhausting the soil.

Once again, we have work from Fumie Kobayashi @calicoindiajp of CALICO, who nurtures thread and fabric work in various parts of India and delivers the charm of fabric work in each region . Please feel free to touch it and wear it.
