Indian handmade fabrics and summer clothes at NISHINISHI (Takamatsu, Kagawa)

CALICO is coming to NISHINISHI, Takamatsu...!

This summer, Kiriko will be visiting Takamatsu NISHINISHI again.

The photo shows a bright, Bengali-style indigo-dyed shawl from maku, who created this spring/summer series of checkered indigo-dyed pieces. It matches the classic AMCO dress in white crepe.

On the first day, the 5th, Kobayashi will also be present for the first time in a while.
We are looking forward to seeing you there.

Light Bengali handwoven cotton fabrics and native cotton fabrics from Kutch and Tamil Nadu
Block printed and tie-dyed fabrics that have been passed down through various communities in West India...
The handmade fabrics are alluring, and CALICO's summer clothing is an indispensable item this season.
Maku's clothing is on display, showcasing Bengali handiwork in every detail.
Enjoy the beautiful world of Indian fabrics.

CALICO works with local artisans to preserve the traditional methods used in Indian villages.
The project focuses on fabrics from East and West India, and uses local materials wherever possible, such as Khadi (handspun and hand woven cotton), Jamdani, patterned fabrics such as jacquard, block prints and dyed fabrics such as Bandhani, embroidered fabrics such as Kantha, native cotton and wool, to create modern traditions that can be passed on to future generations.
It is the name of a prayer to bring back the rich culture of fabrics and clothing to our daily lives, where we have long since lost the joy of touch, and to create a new world of fabrics that will connect to the future.
